Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's wine from the historic Chateau Miraval.
Despite separating in 2016, it’s business as usual for actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie at their Provence estate Château Miraval and their 2019 vintage Rosé has just landed in New Zealand. Not only does this beautiful Rosé bask in the glory of celebrity it has been extremely well reviewed around the world, in fact the Los Angeles Times named it the "Best Rosé in the World" a few years back and the inaugural 2012 vintage of 6000 bottles sold out in just 5 hours.
Winery notes (2019 Vintage)
"A blend of Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah and Rolle. Pretty petal pink color with shiny undertones. This 2019 vintage instantly reminds of Provence with its beautiful aromas of fresh fruit and spring flowers. Airy and balanced, it delicately combines great freshness and complexity, and develops saline and mineral notes. Its long and intense finish is the signature of a rosé with incomparable elegance.
Issued from the Château’s best parcels (Muriers, Longue, Romarin), and from selected parcels in the best terroirs of Provence. Clay & Limestone vineyard, partially in terraces located at an average of 1200 feet above sea level. Miraval's cold air pulling valley offers greater diurnal temperature variation."
880/100 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, May 2020 (2019 Vintage)
"Hints of passion fruit give a vibrant, youthful edge to the other scents of pink grapefruit and lime in Miraval’s 2019 Cotes de Provence Rose. It’s medium-bodied, with pretty straightforward, citrusy flavors and a crisp, refreshing finish. For those who don’t know, this is the Brad Pitt-Angelina Jolie property being managed in partnership with the Perrin family of Chateau de Beaucastel, but this bottling also incorporates non-estate fruit."
