"Just outside Nantes, in the very heart of the Muscadet wine region, 10 winemakers joined forces to put their open-mindedness and mutual trust to work and produce wines for the Le Pallet Cru Communal. By pooling their skills, expertise and the wealth of their terroir, they bring out the very best in each other and produce wines with great personality and truly high quality.
From the Château Palatio (a white stone terroir) to the Château des Templiers (a black stone terroir), and of course the emblematic “Jubilation le Pallet” Cru Communal, they work tirelessly to guarantee that their wine provides a complex and successful expression of their land.
Le Pallet is one of only three communes in Muscadet to be given a “cru communal” status by the national institute of origin and quality in 2011 (along with Clisson and Gorges). In the cru village of Le Pallet, a warmer microclimate joins with shallow, stony soils, known locally as Gabbros, to promote early and full ripening of fruit.
With a temperate, humid climate from the nearby Atlantic, you’ll find Muscadet all around Nantes. This dry white, slightly effervescent wine offers mineral notes and is best served with fish and seafood. The shale, gneiss or granite soils provide good drainage, which is crucial in a wet climate. Here, you’ll also find wines which are matured on their lees, whose flavours are enriched by the aromatic compounds found in the lees, giving a highly aromatic wine with a slightly saline flavour.
This cuvée has a lovely straw yellow colour, with aromas reminiscent of liquorice and figs. A slight spritz on the palate is accompanied by a further evolution of fresh citrus, green apple, and lime blossom as well as soft, round texture from lees aging. Finishes with crisp precision and charming length."
