Winery notes (2019 Vintage)
"Finla Mor is grown on selected vineyards in the Cromwell basin. The vineyards are all planted on elevated terraces in the Lowburn and Parkburn areas. Each of the vineyards feature a mix of the alluvial schist based soils giving the wine its purity and minerality. Each vineyard is hand harvested and fermented in small lots.
Aromas of Black Doris plums, dark cherry, mocha and roast form a rich bouquet while delicate spice notes waft around the edges. The cherry and mocha flavours continue onto a palate that reveals harmonious fruit and tannin balance delivering an engaging finish."
5 Stars & 95/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, March 2021 (2019 Vintage)
"Beautifully fruited and fragrant, the bouquet shows dark plum, roasted nut, olive and hazelnut characters. The palate offers fabulous fruit purity combined with rounded texture and silky mouthfeel, leading to a lengthy velvety finish. Wonderfully harmonious and delectably appealing. Grapes were grown in the Cromwell district. At its best: now to 2029."
Rated Excellent & 94/100 Cameron Douglas MS, March 2021 (2019 Vintage)
"Complex yet youthful, varietal and fruity, floral and mineral. Core aromas of raspberry and dark red cherry, layers of dried herb and rugged stony mineral scents then French oak spice and toastiness. On the palate – as the nose suggest – very youthful yet complex with layers of red berry fruits and oak, soil, mineral and a rugged charm with power and concentration. Firm tannins and noticeable acidity with contrasting fruit tension. Lengthy finish. A wine that must be in your cellar till end of 2022 at the earliest with best drinking from late 2022 through 2030+."
93/100 Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review (2019 Vintage)
"Moderately weighty and intense pinot noir with cherry, berry, wood smoke, fresh herbs and spice flavours. It has pleasing purity, a silken texture and a lingering finish.
