Caruso & Minini is a winery located in Marsala, the most western coastal city of Sicilia, where Marsala wines are produced.
Native to Sicily, Nero d’Avola, which translates to "Black of Avola," produces wines with a dark, robust character. The mix of Sicily’s arid, Mediterranean heat and its large diurnal swings is conducive to creating ripe wines with retained acidity. Nero d’Avola is Sicily’s most planted red grape.
Winery notes (2019 Vintage)
"Only one third of the wine is aged in barrique for 4 months, just the needed time to build some structure without compromising the freshness. The wine strikes with its density and its royal ruby colour. In one’s nose is rich of scents, deep and pure. Mature red fruits merged with herbs and ripe cherry. Expresses excellent varietal character, featuring smooth, velvety tannins and incredibly harmonious balance."

89/100 & Best Buy, Wine Enthusiast, January 2020 (2018 Vintage)
"Ripe black-skinned berry, wild mint and carob aromas take centre stage on this round red. The aromas carry over to the juicy, smooth palate along with blackberry jam and a hint of baking spice. Soft tannins offer light support. There's no complexity, but it's savoury and accessible."
