The nature of a caravan says it usually follows but this one has turned that around and has a huge following. Ever popular at Vino Fino, the Caravan packs quite a punch for such a modestly priced wine, with its dark colour, berry jam fruits and a nice dry and spicy finish. If you are buying this to share, get more than one bottle because it will quickly disappear… It's time to get on the Caravan if you haven't already.
NZIWS 2018 (2017 Vintage)
"Deeply coloured and dense, it's flavour packed with dark fruit, rosted beet, strawberry tart and spicy oak. Brilliantly structured and abundantly fruited, offering pristine fruit intensity together with spicy complexity."
Reviews for the 2016 vintage below…
4 Stars & 18.0-/20 Raymond Chan, January 2018 (2016 Vintage)
"Full, even, near impenetrable black-hued purple-red colour. The nose is soft and somewhat restrained in expression, unveiling gently packed and dense aromas of ripe blackberries and boysenberry fruit with black plums and fragrant oak elements. Full-bodied, the palate has rich and plush, ripe fruit flavours of blackberries and boysenberries, black plums and subtle oak. The fruit is sweet and mouthfilling, and balanced by grainy tannin extraction and structure. The grip increases in presence and the structure carries the wine to a dry, textured finish with ripe black berry and plum notes. A little shy on the nose, this is a rich and plush, blackberry and boysenberry fruited Petite Sirah with grainy tannin structure. Serve with roasted and grilled game meat dishes over the next 5-6 years. South East Australian fruit fermented to 14.71% alc., the wine given oak contact."

"Deep dark crimson red, intense aromas of musk and boysenberry, and ripe juicy flavours crammed with opulent berry fruit, firm tannins, underlying leather and tar, a touch of spice and strawberry chocolate on the lingering finish. Youthful but expressive."
