Trophy for Champion Viognier – New Zealand International Wine Show 2019
Gold Medal – New Zealand International Wine Show 2019
A new addition to the Brookfields range that sets a benchmark for this variety. Almost opulent on the palate, yet satisfyingly dry. This is a great seafood wine, but can equally be enjoyed on its own or with lighter dishes.
5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, June 2019 (2018 Vintage)
"It is gorgeously fruited and elegantly complex on the nose showing ripe peach, poached pear, oatmeal, cashew and subtle spice characters, leading to a succulent palate that is impressively weighted and rounded. The wine offers textural mouthfeel together with wonderful fruit weight, finishing long and soothing. At its best: now to 2022."
NZIWS 2019 (2018 Vintage)
"Full-bodied and mouth-filling with aromas and flavours of apricots, honeysuckle, tropical fruit and lemon balm with subtle smoky oak adding a delightful savoury note. Seemingly luscious yet gratifyingly spicy and dry."
4 Stars Michael Cooper (2018 Vintage)
"Still unfolding, the 2018 vintage was estate-grown, hand-picked and barrel-fermented (25 per cent new oak). It's a rather Chardonnay-like wine, fleshy, with generous, ripe stone-fruit flavours, oak complexity and gentle acidity. Best drinking 2021+."
