95% Tempranillo, 4% Graciano & 1% Mazeulo
The 2011 of this wine proved to be a firm favourite at Vino Fino and looking at the 2013 we are sure this will follow suit. Produced from a selection of the best grapes from Gonzales Byass oldest vineyards in the elevated Rioja Alta region, it spends 20 months in mixed oak barrels with American staves and French tops and then further ageing in bottle before release. Full of dark fruits and spice, it's beautifully balanced and whilst the oak is evident, it melds seamlessly into the wine.
Winery notes (2013 Vintage)
"Beronia Reserva 2013 shows a deep cherry red colour with granite rim. On the nose complex aromas of black fruits, above all blackberry. It also shows a great bouquet of spices with cinnamon standing out and notes of cedar on the finish. On the palate smooth with sweet and round tannins. Great balance between acidic fruit and oak. Fresh, structured and complex with a long aftertaste."
90/100 Decanter UK (2013 Vintage)
"Beronia’s Rioja Reserva has risen very rapidly up the bestseller’s ladder to become a consumer favourite. It’s the result of plenty of investment by owner, Sherry giant González Byass."
