Best's, a winery steeped in Australian winemaking history, have been creating wines in the Great Western region of Victoria for over 150 years and is one of the oldest continuously family owned and operated wineries in Australia. Their vast experience sure shines through in this gorgeous Cabernet, as does the quality of the wine itself in the list of accolades above.

Winery notes (2016 Vintage)
"One of the greatest things about the Great Western wine region is its ability to successfully grow a broad range of grape varieties. Shiraz may be the regional hero, but Cabernet Sauvignon from the area can lay almost equal claim. Best’s Great Western Cabernet Sauvignon is a fine example of the Great Western Regional style; showing rich, mocha and berry fruit with a solid mid-palate weight thanks to superbly concentrated fruit.

Rich and broody berry aromas dominate including blackberry and plum. A background of tobacco leaf and nutty oak add complexity. The palate is fine but intense with a core of vibrant dark fruit. The powdery tannins point the way through to a long finish."

95/100 James Halliday's Wine Companion 2019 (2016 Vintage)
"86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, and some Shiraz and Cabernet Franc. Strong crimson-purple; pure, intense and long, cassis to the fore, black olive, and firm but ripe tannins. Best’s is having a ball. Drink: To 2041"

91/100 Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front, March 2018 (2016 Vintage)
"It’s an elegant study of a wine. It’s herbal and undergrowthy with garden mint and associated greenery contributing to the main flow of blackcurrant and black olives. There’s a gently bitter note to the aftertaste, tonic-like, but it feels and tastes ripe throughout and indeed there’s a softness to the texture, helped in part by resiny/cream oak (the latter in modest measure). You’d have to say that it’s pretty good, and that it will improve with time."
