93/100 Mike Bennie, The Wine Front, June 2018 (2015 Vintage)
"Complex, compelling perfume of dried apple, faint fino scents, roast nuts, but all quite fresh and lifted on those sea spray mineral notes. Good slosh of richer-sweeter fruit flavours, honey on apple, light saline character and nuttiness in tow. Really in my wheelhouse of drinking, but for those not sure, let’s say there’s plenty of character, savouriness, depth and interest."
17/20 Jancis Robinson (2015 Vintage)
"Blend of Pinot Gris, Riesling, Muscat and Gewürztraminer. Guy Porter is owner and winemaker at this estate in Waipara, North Canterbury. RS 21.1 g/l. Mid gold. Honeyed, waxy, broad nose. Extremely juicy and interesting. Was it inspired by Friuli? Works really well. The sugar is counterbalanced by light astringency. In terms of structure it’s like a really good mature Loire Chenin Blanc!"
4 ½ Stars Yvonne Lorkin, October 2017 (2015 Vintage)
"Guy Porter has blended together an eyebrow-raising combo of riesling, muscat, gewürztraminer and pinot gris from his family vineyard on Georges Road, Waipara to create a wine redolent of yellow roses and grandma’s overnight bag – perfumed and sweet on the nose. In the mouth it has juicy white peach and persimmon notes, refreshing creamy and complex. It’s amazing with spicy chicken fajitas accompanied by a huge helping of salsa and guacamole."
90/100 Lisa Perrotti-Brown, The Wine Advocate, June 2017 (2015 Vintage)
"Produced from a blend of aromatic varieties, the 2015 Home Block White has a fragrant white peach, honeysuckle and potpourri nose with hints of lemongrass and dried herbs. Light-bodied and off-dry, it possesses a wonderfully lively acid line, cutting through the intense, perfumed flavours, finishing with some exotic spices coming through."
