Winery notes (2014 Vintage)
"This elegant wine is dark purple with purple hues. The Archangel Pinot Noir 2014 has perfumed aromas of violets, florals and spice, together with dark cherry and hints of leather and oak char. The palate is inviting with sweet dark cherry, plum and blackberry flavours, with hints of savoury leather and tobacco. A complex medium bodied wine, which has ample fine grained tannin and a long lingering finish."

5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, May 2018 (2014 Vintage)
"Sweetly fruited and fabulously aromatic, the bouquet shows dark cherry, cranberry, cedar and vanilla characters with warm spice and mushroom nuances. The palate is equally satisfying, displaying succulent fruit flavours and rounded mouthfeel, leading to a lengthy juicy finish. Beautifully harmonious and complex showing rich fruit intensity with elegant savoury undertones. At its best: now to 2020."

5 Stars & 18.5+/20 Raymond Chan, March 2018 (2014 Vintage)
"Dark, deep, ruby-red colour with some black-purple hues, lighter on the edge. The nose is elegant in proportion with finely concentrated aromas of ripe, dark-red berry fruit with hints of raspberry liqueur, along with plum notes, piquant, savoury dark herbs, unfolding subtle violet florals. Medium-full bodied, the palate has rich and vibrant flavours of ripe, dark-red and black berried fruits, along with plums, liquorice and some dark herbal detail. The fruit forms a well-concentrated core with a fine, grainy textures and extraction. The mouthfeel is enlivened by fresh, lacy acidity, and the wine carries to a rich-fruited, sustained finish. This is a vibrant, elegantly concentrated Pinot Noir with ripe dark-red and black berried fruits, and nuances of plums and liquorice on a fine, grainy structure and a lively palate. Match with lamb, beef and venison over the next 6-7+ years. Hand-picked fruit, clones 5, 777, 113, 115 and Abel, destemmed and fermented to 13.7% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 27% new French oak barriques. 18.5+/20 Mar 2018"
