A family-owned domaine spanning five generations, Domaine Bardi-Alquier is one of the best-known names in the Languedoc appellation of Faugères. Domaine Bardi-Alquier is the benchmark for the appellation and is considered one of the Grand Crus of the Languedoc. Jean-Michel Alquier took over the winemaking here with the death of his father Gilbert in 1989. The wines are very impressive, and must rank at or near the top of the appellation on this showing. In 2018, Sophie and Thibaud Bardi de Fourtou joined the estate.
Fine, elegant and modern, Maison Jaune wine is a masterpiece! It’s a powerful and generous red wine with a deep purple colour. After a supple attack, this wine reveals its generosity and greediness on the palate with a long finish. The nose brings hints of ripe fruits (blackcurrant & blackberry), spices and liquorice.
