ISOLATED HILL ROSÉ 2025

Isolated Hill Rosé is quite a special discovery from a very special site. A lovely pale pink colour leads to the palate of ripe white peach and red melon. In addition to lovely fruit flavours there's a salivating saline, mineral quality that must only come from the limestone soils. Absolutely delicious!

Andy and Jill Black farm 700ha of family owned land. Their personal interest and focus on wine led them to plant their first vines in 2005. In the past they have supplied grapes to well known labels. Now recently they have decided to produce their own wine.

Isolated Hill is a 1.2ha vineyard on a perfect North facing slope in Waiau, North Canterbury. The nutrient rich limestone clay soil is similar to the terroir of Burgundy, the original home of Pinot Noir. Sitting beneath a working limestone quarry this wine is an expression of the many characters from its site.

"A beautiful pale pink with just a touch of straw, this is a wine that's clear and bright and very seductive. Enticing aromas of watermelon, strawberries, and a floral sweetness reminiscent of an old fashioned rose blossom, along with a whisper of cloves. This is a serious food wine; textural, juicy acidity that balances the ripe watermelon flavours. Fresh raspberries and the crunch of red apples on the finish. There is a silky mouthfeel that runs through this wine and it's all about being a standout. A perfect wine to embrace summer but with so much more when matched with food, it becomes quintessential serious Rosé and perfect for any time of the year."
