"On release it has a beguiling lemon hue. Erupting from the glass is a crescendo of citrus, tropical and perfume, anchored by a steely mineral footing. Impressions of grapefruit, lychee, green apple, and lime sherbet are overlaid with subtle hints of rose petal and geranium, and an intriguing whisp of flint. The mouthfeel is crisp and energised, its juicy fresh fruit favours supported by a fine thread of acid that balances the wines off-dry finish perfectly. Structured yet elegant, it closes with a long, salivating finish, tempting the receiver back for more."

"Classy stuff. Estate-grown at Waipara, in North Canterbury, in top vintages it is richly fragrant and thrillingly intense, with flavours of citrus fruits and honey, complex and luscious. Based on mature vines and stop-fermented in a distinctly medium style, it breaks into full stride at about three years old and can mature well for over a decade. The distinctive 2020 vintage is already delicious. Bright yellow/green, it is weighty and rich, with deep, peachy, slightly honeyed and gingery flavours, gentle sweetness (26 grams/litre of residual sugar), and a very harmonious finish. Drink now or cellar."

"Wonderfully fruited and immediately appealing, the bouquet shows pineapple, grilled peach, orange peel, ginger and subtle honey characters, leading to a delectably expressed palate that's filled with succulent fruit flavours and rich texture. Opulent yet harmonious with attractive sweetness and bright acidity, finishing long and luscious. Style: Medium. At its best: now to 2032."

"Fantastic bouquet, pure, ripe, zesty and fresh. Aromas and flavours peaches and lemon zest, there’s a honeysuckle and marmalade quality with fresh red apples and a lifted white flower quality. Off dry as the wine touches the palate with an immediately contrasting acid line and core fruit flavours that reflect the bouquet. Delicious, fresh and just dry on the finish. Best drinking from late 2023 through 2030."

"Aromas of ground ginger, lemon curd, crushed thyme and sliced peaches. Medium-bodied and off dry. Articulate and rounded with the sweetness adding definition and depth. Grated nutmeg. Candied lemon and orange peel. Delicious."

The Pegasus Bay vineyard enjoys the natural advantages provided by its Waipara Valley location: high sunshine hours, hot dry norwesters, closeness to the Pacific Ocean combined with good shelter from its Easterlies, a bed of ancient gravel and smooth stones enhancing drainage and overall heat retention - all conspiring to provide an ideal, prolonged grape ripening season.

Pegasus Bay has spaces for private events, including landscaped gardens, wetlands and lakes and two levels of well-appointed restaurant area.
