PARNASSE SYRAH 2016 is available to buy in increments of 1
100% Syrah from the Mediterranean regions of Southern France - Nimes, Beziers and Aude Valley aged in 1 and 2 year old oak. 
An elegant and food friendly alternative to the full blown Australian style whilst possessing impressive depth of flavour. An inviting mix of red berries, blackcurrants and sweet smoky spice (clove and cinnamon). The palate is impressively deep and textured with a burst of dark berried fruit flavours wrapped in savoury spice and fine tannins. Nice length and a classy finish completes this modern but decidedly French Shiraz.

"Time seems to move a bit slower in the south of France. A generation of poets and songwriters have written about the natural beauty and relaxed culture of 'The Midi'. Parnasse is named after the mountain grass that flowers above our vineyards each spring, marking the beginning of a long, languid summer.

The 2016 Parnasse Syrah is vibrant and richly expressive with aromas of bright cherry, red berries and sweet spice. The palate is soft and fruit-driven with dark berry flavours framed by subtle smoky oak and fine tannins."

"Very dark, impenetrable black-hued ruby-red with purple hues, very youthful in appearance. The nose is full and up-front with bold aromas of ripe dark raspberry and blackberry fruit with fragrant and lifted notes of whole berry fermentation, unfolding plum fruit with boysenberry jam notes. Medium-bodied, the palate has sweetly rich and ripe fruit flavours of dark raspberries, blackberries with boysenberries, and plum jam indicating whole berry fermentation. The fruitiness is vibrant, and enlivened by light, ripe acidity. The wine flows along a supple palate with light tannin extraction, carrying with good energy to a light, lingering finish of raspberries, plum and jam. This is a richly sweet, up-front, boldly-fruited Syrah with flavours of dark raspberries, blackberries, boysenberries and plum jam notes on a supple palate. Match with pizza, pasta and barbecued fare over the next 3+ years. Named after the Parnassus mountain grass in Northern Europe. 100% Syrah from Nimes, Beziers and Aude Valley, vines 20 y.o. on average, destemmed and fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged in seasoned oak and stainless-steel tanks.
