Winery notes (2022 Vintage)
"This 2022 vintage is an opulent Chardonnay. It has an enticing and expressive nose, showing aromas of white stone fruit, hazelnut with a hint of citrus. Creamy and rich in the mouth with subtle French Oak enveloping an array of juicy stonefruit flavours. Lovely texture and weight with a long and fresh finish. This Palliser Estate 2022 Chardonnay is absolutely delicious!"
Rated Outstanding & 95/100 Cameron Douglas MS, August 2023 (2022 Vintage)
"A classic Chardonnay bouquet from the Palliser team with scents of fresh peach and vanilla burnt butter, spices of barrel toast and a roasted cashew nut quality. Youthful, vibrant and enticing. The nutty richness from the bouquet touches the palate first then flavours of peaches and sweet grapefruit, some baked apple and quince suggestions. A decent acid line, judicious use of oak and lengthy finish showcases a wine of quality, length and complexity. Best drinking from 2024 through 2030."
5 Stars & 95/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, August 2023 (2022 Vintage)
"This is gorgeously styled and expressed on the nose with ripe stone fruit, lemon peel, nougat and hazelnut aromas with a hint of oatmeal nuance. The concentrated palate displays terrific fruit power with splendid complexity, leading to a persistent, delectable finish. Wonderfully composed with richly textured mouthfeel, making it hugely appealing. At its best: now to 2030."
4 ½ Stars Michael Cooper, October 2023 (2022 Vintage)
"The 2022 vintage was estate-grown, hand-picked and fermented and lees-aged in French oak casks. Bright light/green, it is mouthfilling and sweet-fruited, with good concentration of vibrant, youthful, peachy, citrusy flavours, mealy and biscuity notes adding complexity, a hint of butteriness, fresh acidity and a very harmonious finish. Already highly approachable, it should be at its best 2025+."
