"Red plum colour with a brooding nose of plums, baking spices, Christmas pudding and earthy truffles. A powerful, savoury palate of soft dry tannins are beautifully integrated with rich plum and raisin fruit flavours. Lingering floral, fruit and savoury oak notes are beautifully balanced in its long mouthfeel.

Hand-sorted at the winery before a long natural cold soak and wild fermentation. 30 days maceration before a gentle press to a mix of new and old French oak barrels, 30% new. Aged for 16 months before blending and bottling on site."

"This is beautifully fruited and deeply savoury on the nose showing spiced cherry, plum, smoked game, nutmeg and truffle aromas, leading to a succulent palate that is rounded and supple. The wine delivers excellent fruit weight and intensity, while remaining elegant, and finishes superbly long and delicately dry. A lovely combination of fruit richness and savoury complexity. At its best: now to 2020."

"The debut 2015 vintage offers fine value. Not estate-grown, it was hand-picked at Omihi at 24 brix, fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured for 16 months in French oak barrels (30 per cent new). Deep ruby, it is fragrant, mouthfilling, supple and savoury, in an instantly appealing, sweet-fruited style with generous cherry, plum, spice and nut flavours, showing excellent complexity and harmony. Drink now or cellar."

"Dark, deep red colour with some depth and some garnet hues, lighter on the rim. This has a full, broad bouquet with well-packed aromas of savoury dark-red berry fruit with a complex amalgam of dark-red florals, dried herbs and earth, unfolding spice elements. This has aromatic penetration and density. Medium-full bodied, the palate is solid and mouthfilling with flavours of savoury dark-red berry fruits melded with earth and dried herbs. The fruit is encased by considerable tannin extraction which is moderately fine-grained. The mouthfeel has fresh, integrated acidity with some underlying power that carries the complex savoury fruit and earthy nuances to a sustained finish. This is a mouthfilling, complex flavoured Pinot Noir with savoury dark-red fruits, earth and dried herb notes on a well-structured palate with a fresh mouthfeel. Serve with casseroles and slow-cooked game meat dishes over the next 4-5 years. Hand-picked and hand-sorted fruit from mature vines on the Omihi northern slopes, fully-destemmed and indigenous yeast fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine given 30 days skin contact and aged 16 months in 30% new French oak. 1,103 cases made."
