"Full, even, dark ruby-red colour, a little lighter on the rim with garnet hues. The nose is very elegantly concentrated and refined in expression showing lifted, fragrant, bright dark-red berry and cherry fruit, red florals, red liquorice and a core of dark herbs and subtle, savoury, whole bunch stalk suggestions. Medium-full bodied, the palate features fresh, bright and aromatic dark-red berry and cherry fruit lifted by fragrant red florals and complexed by subtle notes of fresh herbs. The palate grows in richness, forming a plush and lusciously concentrated core enlivened by fresh, lacy acidity, with fine-grained tannin support. This has finesse, fragrance and focus, and the wine leads to a long and sustained finish of red berry and cherry fruit along with aromatic florals. This is a beautifully aromatic, refined and fragrant Pinot Noir with dark red berry and cherry fruit, and a refreshing mouthfeel. Serve with poultry and pork over the next 5+ years. Clone 114, 667 and 777 fruit from the ‘Awatere River’ vineyard, vines 15 y.o., indigenous yeast fermented with 20% whole bunches to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 11 months in 33% new French oak barriques."
