"The 2015 growing season was highlighted by an unusually dry winter followed by a warm and dry spring. Warm weather and sparse rainfall continued throughout summer, leading to an early start to harvest and reduced yields. The smaller crop resulted in exceptional wines with great character and concentrated flavours.

A long valley, both pastoral and austere. On one end, the Monterey Bay— dramatically deep, unusually cold. On the other, Central California, rich in history and agriculture. Throughout, a brisk, ever-present breeze that rises from the ocean and cools both fields of produce and expansive, rolling vineyards. This is Monterey—rocky, windswept and unrestrained.

Aromas of black plum, cherry, rhubarb and hints of earth and loam. Flavors of red plum, raspberry and blood orange are underpinned by distinctive river stone minerality and savory umami character. Plush and richly textured with juicy, yet balanced acidity and integrated toasty barrel spice."

"Ruby-red colour with slight garnet hues and some depth, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is fragrant with lifted aromas of raspberry fruit intermixed with dark-red florals and subtle nuances of dark herbs, unfolding raspberry liqueur elements. Medium-full bodied, the palate has a rounded and deep heart of sweetly ripe dark raspberry and black cherry fruit, along with subtle notes of dark herbs and nuances of nutty oak with raspberry liqueur elements. The fruit sweetness is balanced by fine, supple, light tannin extraction, with soft, integrated acidity. The wine flows smoothly along a velvety line leading to a lingering finish revealing some bitter cherry notes. This is a rounded, gently sweet, ripe Pinot Noir with dark raspberry, cherry, herb and liqueur flavours on a smooth palate. Match with duck and pork, and with Mediterranean fare over the next 4+ years. Monterey fruit fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 9 months in 23% new French oak."
