5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, March 2015 (2012 Vintage)
"Deeply coloured and impressively fruited, this is instantly appealing on the nose with dark plum, blueberry, cedar and a whiff of white pepper notes. The palate is equally engaging and attractive, displaying excellent mid palate weight and silky texture, brilliantly structured by abundance of supple tannins. It is long, sumptuous and very tasty. At its best: now to 2022."
91/100 & Editors Choice Wine Enthusiast (2012 Vintage)
"Deep in colour, it has mouthcoating fruit and rich tannins, with minty notes adding to the deep, dark cherry and blackberry flavours. Full-bodied and full-flavoured, it relies on fruit concentration rather than overt oak for personality and is smooth in texture."
4 Stars Yvonne Lorkin, November 2015 (2012 Vintage)
"This is basically the Sade of red wine, a smooth operator if ever there was one.  Soft, sweet boysenberry, cherry, chocolate and liquorice aromas and flavours lead to velvety, elastic tannins and a long, silky finish.  If you’ve never tried a Californian syrah and want to get amongst a good on – here’s your chance."
4 Stars & 18.0+/20 Raymond Chan, November 2014 (2012 Vintage)
"Very dark, deep, black-red colour, with youthful purple hues, near impenetrable. The bouquet is full and voluminous with aromas of ripe spicy blackberry fruit along with black pepper, plums, minerals and tar, lifted by dark red floral perfumes. This has excellent depth and definition. Full-bodied, sweetly ripe and luscious fruit flavours show with plenty of weight and presence, forming a firm, grainy-textured core. The extraction is a feature but the tannins are sufficiently supple to allow accessibility and the sweet blackberry and peppery fruit to come to the fore. Layers of iron-earth, minerals and spices add interest and flow through an elegant, lingering finish with black and dark red florals. This is a rich, well-structured Syrah with black fruits and minerally, earthy interest. Serve with roasted and grilled game meat dishes over the next 6-8+ years. 81% Syrah, 12% Petite Sirah and 7% Grenache from Santa Barbara, Sonoma and Mendocino, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged over 9 months in 68% French and 32% American oak."
