Winery notes (2017 Vintage)
"The grapes for this Rosé were personally selected by Jules from the Branken Hill Vineyard, which is located in the Hawkesbury area of Marlborough’s southern valleys. Jules had noted a special parcel of Pinot Noir tucked into the eastern corner of the vineyard and though they showed great promise. The grapes were hand harvested, crushed and left infuse with their skins before being pressed. The juice has a long and cool ferment with a selected yeast strain providing freshness and flavour.

This wine has a perfect pink petal hue and is brimming with light summer fruits with pomegranate and raspberry, yet it summons patisserie accents with hints of baked fig, cinnamon and nutmeg. The palate exhibits bright and fresh red summer fruits followed by subtle tones of natural honey dew and Manuka flower. The most compelling thing about this wine is its balance between crisp dryness and its mouth-watering acidity."
5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, August 2017 (2017 Vintage)
"This is seriously good, and so charming and drinkable. The irresistibly attractive bouquet shows watermelon, raspberry, apple blossom and lemon peel aromas, leading to a beautifully weighted and rounded palate that is bright, juicy and vibrant. The wine flows effortlessly through the palate, finishing impressively long and silky. At its best: now to 2019."
5 Stars & 19.0/20 Raymond Chan, September 2017 (2017 Vintage)
"Bright pale-pink colour with slight purple hues, lighter edged. The nose I very oft and subtly packed, unfolding delicate aromas of raspberries and cherries, quince and soft red florals and a suggestion of lifted confectionary and esters, then mouthwatering mineral nuances. This has a remarkable balance of delicacy and fruit intensity. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is bright and vibrant with beautifully fragrant flavours of cherries, raspberries, quince and red floral, with very subtle lifted confectionary notes, and minerals. The palate has great poise, with refreshing acidity balanced by the fruit sweetness and very fine textures, providing a smooth flowing, gently thirst-quenching line. The wine carries to a delicate and pure finish with aromatic florals. This is a beautifully fragrant, subtly concentrated fine-textured, refreshing dry rosé with cherry, raspberry and quince fruit and fine florals. Serve as an aperitif, with antipasto, tapas and dim sum over the next 2 years. 100% Pinot Noir from the ‘Branken Hill’ vineyard, Hawkesbury, hand-picked and given a couple of hours skin contact, and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 1 g/L RS."
4 1/2 Stars Michael Cooper (2017 Vintage)
"Strikingly packaged, the debut 2017 vintage was produced 'OTQ' (On The Quiet) from Pinot Noir. Scented, with a very inviting, pale pink hue, it is mouthfilling, vibrant and smooth, with an array of gentle fruit flavours - suggestive of strawberry, watermelon, peach, apricot - and a finely poised, dry (1.1 grams/litre residual sugar), lingering finish. Already delicious, it should be at its best during 2018."
4 Stars Cuisine Rosé Tasting, December 2017 (2017 Vintage)
"Specially selected grapes from the Branken Hill Vineyard in the southern valleys are used for this well-made and beautifully packaged rosé. Lilac-hued and floral-scented, it spreads out over the palate with grace and poise, scattering sweet berryfruit and herbal notes.  A deft structure gives it tension and poise."
