"Handcrafted with fruit from our Gibbston and Bendigo vineyards, the 2015 GV Collection Pinot Noir is a regional statement of consistency and premium quality Central Otago-style wine.

Deep red/crimson with a consistent bright hue, the nose lifts with red and dark fruit, some graphite notes and barrel funk. The palate is youthfully-expressive: crammed with in the front with blackberry, leading to a complex line of mineral tannin."

"This replaces the former 'Gibbston Valley Central Otago Pinot Noir' label. The classy, debut 2015 vintage was mostly grown at Bendigo (95 per cent); the rest came from Gibbston. Hand-picked and matured for 10 months in French oak casks (20 per cent new), it is full-coloured, mouthfilling, savoury and supple, with lovely poise, texture and depth. Already delicious, it has ripe cherry, plum, dried-herb and spice flavours, showing excellent complexity and harmony. Drink now or cellar."

"Dark, even ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues. The nose is firmly concentrated with aromas of dark-red and black berry and black cherry fruit intermixed with an amalgam of liquorice and minerals, subtle thyme herb elements and a suggestion of oak char. This is youthful, tightly bound and intense in presentation. Medium-full bodied, the fruit is bright and primary with flavours of black berries and black cherries, along with subtle notes of thyme herbs, minerals and oak. The fruit is sweet and well-concentrated, and enlivened by integrated acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced by fine, grainy tannin extraction that allows the fruit richness to prevail, and the wine carries to an elegantly concentrated, lingering finish of fresh black cherry fruit. This is a youthfully firm, elegantly concentrated Pinot Noir with black fruits and a balanced, grainy textured and structured palate. Match with pork, lamb, beef and venison over the next 6-7 years. Fruit from 5 vineyards, 4 from Bendigo comprising 95% of the blend and the other from Gibbston, hand-picked and fermented, approx. 40% by indigenous yeasts with 25% whole clusters to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 20% new French oak."
