DELIVERY & RETURNS
Wouldn't it be great if freight was as free as the air we breathe? Unfortunately, in the real world, freight and packaging costs us money and so if we offered “no freight charge” we’d have to include a freight component in every product we sell, including instore. We prefer the ‘user pays’. Our freight rates are based on cost and we have negotiated very good rates from our supplier.
We provide a door to door delivery service nationwide through Courier Post. Delivery charges are calculated on a 12 bottle carton or part thereof. Delivery charges are calculated in the "Shopping Cart". Please ensure you choose the correct delivery region and area code. We will advise you if you have chosen the incorrect delivery region.
Deliveries do not require a signature and if you are out when the delivery is made, the delivery driver will leave a card explaining how to arrange a re-delivery, unless specific instructions have been made to leave the carton in a secure place. Please note that neither we nor the courier company are responsible for any loss/damage once the delivery has been made. It is often best to use a business address if you know no-one will be home and have no secure place for the delivery. You should keep your delivery note and any packaging if any order is missing or damaged.
Expected delivery times are 1-5 working days depending on the destination. Delivery times may however be extended during busy seasonal periods due to heavier demand. Delivery times may also be delayed due to public holidays and over the Christmas/New Year period. We will advise if there will be any delay due to products being unavailable.
Note for delivery outside of the Christchurch City Delivery Area (see below) we use national courier companies and the delivery regions are defined by them.
Can we just send 1 or 2 bottles?
For 1 - 2 bottles we charge extra for packaging. To ensure the safety of the bottles we use specially designed posting boxes and we strongly suggest you purchase these when you order. For an extra $2.50 per bottle you can be assured of the wines arriving safe and sound. These boxes are also good for sending gifts.
Overweight and oversize items
Please note that some items such as sparkling wine, spirits, magnums etc. can weigh more and/or are larger than a standard bottle of wine and we may not be able to send twelve bottles for the standard courier charge. If this is the case we will contact you.
CHIRSTCHURCH CITY AREA
Not in a hurry? As we have a dedicated delivery van with deliveries carried out by our own staff, we do not charge for deliveries of 6 bottles or more within our Christchurch City Delivery area (less than 6 bottles are $5.00 per order). However, delivery times are dependent on when our driver is doing a delivery run in or near that area. Inner city areas we aim for delivery the same or following day. Some outer suburbs are only weekly (Sumner for example we tend to deliver each Saturday). This is the default option when you order.
In a Hurry? Please advise us if your order is urgent and we will let you know what options we can offer or otherwise we can place on a courier at the rate of $5.00 per case with delivery usually the following week day.
Please note, that the Christchurch City Delivery area does not include surrounding areas such as Rolleston, Templeton, Prebbleton, Kaiapoi, Tai Tapu, Lyttleton or rural areas surrounding Christchurch. These are included in local towns (see below for rates).
LOCAL TOWNS & OUTER SUBURBS
$5.00 per case (up to 12 bottles) e.g. Rolleston, Rangiora, Lincoln, Prebbleton, Kaiapoi, Lyttleton (town areas only, rural delivery charges apply if an RD address).
$8.00 per case (up to 12 bottles). For all other South Island addresses outside Christchurch.
Deliveries are usually within 24 hours of pickup from Vino Fino (week days).
$9.00 per case (up to 12 bottles). Deliveries are usually within 2-3 days for most major towns.
$4.00 per case (up to 12 bottles) on top of standard delivery rate. Deliveries are undertaken by Rural delivery contractors. Rural delivery addresses are those as defined by NZ Post. Please allow extra time for these deliveries.
We do not ship to an overseas address for orders placed on our website. However, we can arrange for overseas delivery through a third party provider. Please contact us directly for rates to your country (if available).

Saturday Delivery (Only main towns - Not available in all areas so please check with us) $5.00 surcharge

BREAKAGE OR LOSS
Courier mishaps do occur!
All wines are fully guaranteed against breakage or loss in transit up to the point of delivery. To make it possible for us to make valid claims on our couriers for courier damage you must contact us within 48 hours of delivery.
If a delivery appears to have been delayed without reason, it may be because goods have been damaged in transit. Please contact us to track a delivery. If goods are damaged in transit and they are returned to us, we will re-send the order as soon as possible.
We insure your wine up to the point where it is delivered to your address. We are not responsible for damage or theft to goods beyond this point. If you do not want the wine to be left at your address if no-one is home, please indicate this on your delivery instructions (signature required) There may be a small extra charge for this service.
If you have requested delivery to a specified location on or inside a premises, the location in which the product is delivered must be specifically described to us at the time you place your order. We will pass on the delivery instructions to the courier. Once delivered by the courier, the product will become entirely your responsibility (in, for example, the case of use, loss, damage or theft) and neither Vino Fino nor the courier will bear any responsibility.
Also note there may be cases where the Courier may require proof of age identification.
If, for any reason, you are unhappy with your purchase, do not hesitate to contact us on (03) 3655134 and we will look to remedy the problem asap.
If you've purchased wine from us and it's not to your taste, return the remaining unopened bottles in good condition with undamaged capsules and labels to Vino Fino for a credit or swap with another product to the same value.
Faulty wines (corked, oxidised etc) will be replaced where possible, otherwise refunded. We usually require the faulty bottle and the contents to be returned to us so we can liaise with our suppliers as to the nature of the fault.
Picking errors or goods damaged in transit, contact us within 48 hours so that we can replace or correct. Please keep the damaged bottles as we'll need those to discuss the incident with our couriers.
If, for any reason, you need to cancel or alter some or part of your order you must contact us immediately by email email@example.com or phone (03) 3655134 to provide us with the details. We can only cancel or alter your order if it has not been processed by us.
