"Pungent, powerful and distinctive bouquet of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc with aromas and flavours of passion fruit and lemon, white peach and fresh basil. Great palate presence with a core of fruit, high acidity and silky textures. Lengthy finish, classic Cloudy bay with a lengthy steely finish. Drink now and through 2022."

"New Zealand's most internationally acclaimed wine is sought after from Sydney to New York and London. Its irresistibly aromatic and zesty style and intense flavours stem from 'the fruit characters that are in the grapes when they arrive at the winery'. It is sourced from company-owned and several long-term contract growers' vineyards in the Rapaura, Fairhall, Renwick and Brancott districts of the Wairau Valley, Marlborough. The juice is mostly cool-fermented with cultured and indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks and aged on its yeast lees, and a small percentage of the blend (4 per cent in 2017) is fermented at warmer temperatures in old French oak barriques and large oak vats. From a tough growing season, the 2017 vintage is scented, mouthfilling and tightly structured, with strong, vigorous passionfruit and lime flavours, woven with steely acidity, and obvious potential. Slightly austere in its infancy, it needs time; open mid-2018+."
