"​Entirely estate-grown at Te Awanga, the classy 2015 vintage is a fragrant, dark blend of Merlot (75 per cent), Malbec (16.5 per cent) and Cabernet Franc (8.5 per cent), matured for 17 months in French oak casks (33 per cent new.) Already inviting, it is deeply coloured and sturdy, with fresh, concentrated, youthful blackcurrant, plum and spice flavours, hints of coffee and dark chocolate, nutty, savoury notes adding complexity, and a finely poised, lasting finish. Best drinking 2019+."

"A spectacular red from an excellent vintage in the Hawke's Bay, this extraordinary wine displays cassis, dark plum, black tea, warm spice and cedar characters with subtle cigar box complexity. The palate is powerful and graceful at the same time, offering superb concentration and rich texture, wonderfully complemented by refined mouthfeel and an extremely long, sophisticated finish. The wine is firmly structured by fine, chalky tannins, ensuring its gradual and graceful development. 2015 Enigma is a blend of merlot, cabernet franc and malbec. At its best: 2019 to 2030."

"Dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is full and voluminous with well-concentrated, densely packed aromas of very ripe black plum and blackberry fruit, along with nuances of boysenberries and liquorice, dark herbs and earth, and cedary oak detail. The aromatics are complete, integrated and harmonious. Full-bodied, the palate is solidly packed with rich and succulent dark plum and blackberry fruit with nuances of boysenberries and liquorice, interwoven with spices and cedary oak. The mouthfeel is fulsome with underlying fine textures and supple tannin extraction that allows the fruit richness to prevail. The acidity is integrated and the wine flows smoothly to a strong, sustained finish of black plums and cedary oak. This is a fulsome, rich and plush Merlot-based blend with ripe black plum and berry fruits, supported by fine-grained tannins lending a smooth mouthfeel. Serve with roasted and slow-cooked red meat dishes over the next 8-10 years. A blend of 75% Merlot, 16.5% Malbec and 8.5% Cabernet Franc from the Te Awanga vineyards, indigenous yeast fermented to 14.4% alc., the wine spending approx. 4 weeks on skins and aged 17 months in 33% new French oak."
