Bordeaux is all about texture, complexity and persistence. This wine delivers on all fronts; not often have we seen a wine of this quality at this price point. Never really come to grips with the glory of Bordeaux? Try this little experiment the next time you are cooking up some roast lamb - open up a bottle of your favourite New World Cabernet Merlot fruit bomb and a bottle of the Loudenne. Try them both first without food and then with the meal. We are sure the Bordeaux will have you won over by the end.
Aged for 16 months in French oak barrels renewed by one third every year, this beautiful Médoc displays a nice dark shinny crimson. An intensive fruity nose of red berries. Slightly woody with notes of vanilla. Good volume on the palate the attack is well structured and ample. The long lasting finish is aromatic and very elegant with dainty persistence.
4 Stars Raymond Chan, June 2017 (2011 Vintage)
"Very full, near impenetrable black-hued red colour, a little lighter on the rim with some garnet. The bouquet is elegantly concentrated with intense and well-packed aromas of black plums interwoven with blackcurrant notes along with subtle cassis, herb and blackcurrant leaf elements at the core. The nose is refined and unfolds a little funky earthy and gaminess with aeration. Medium-full bodied, the palate is finely proportioned with good depth and plenty of power, showing black plums and blackcurrants, along with cassis and dark herbs, revealing some earthy and gamey funkiness. The mouthfeel is vibrant and fresh and follows a fine, firm line with fine-grained tannin extraction and balanced acidity. The wine carries to a sleek and slender finish. This is an elegantly concentrated Medoc red with black plum and blackberry fruit along with herb, earth and game nuances on a finely extracted palate. Match with roast lamb and beef dishes over the next 6+ years. Cru Bourgeois, from 51 ha of vines planted at 52% Merlot, 46% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 16 months in 33% new French oak."

92/100 Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review (2011 Vintage)
"A blend of cabernet sauvignon and merlot from a reliable producer. I think this is a delicious wine. It is supple and complex, with a mix of blackberry, plum and savoury leather and chocolate flavours. A bargain at this price".
