Yvonne Lorkin, September 2017 (2016 Vintage)
"Pinot blanc is such a rare thing in this country, but Duncan Forsyth and Anna Riederer are experts at crafting some of the best year after year. It’s a complex little number, with summer wild flowers, white peach, walnut flesh and soft, exotic spices alongside a squeak of honeysuckle which adds a frill to the finish. I love it!!"
89/100 Cameron Douglas MS (2016 Vintage)
"Plush, flashy and ripe white fleshed fruit aromas with brown pear, Asian pear, apple and white spice, a zesty slightly heady moment is distinctive. On the palate – equally ripe as fresh as the nose suggests; more emphasis on the variety with hot spice, medium+ acidity then white fleshed fruits. Silky texture, lengthy finish, balanced. Drink now and through 2022."
Joelle Thomson (2016 Vintage)
"Lovely dry white, nice lees work adds texture to this wine’s refreshing citrusy flavours. It’s one of only three Otago Pinot Blancs."
4 Stars & 17.5/20 Raymond Chan, October 2017 (2016 Vintage)
"Bright pale straw-yellow colour, near colourless on the edge. The nose is initially shy, but opens to reveal softly broad aromas of savoury stonefruits and subtle earthy and mineral elements. This is very expressive of the variety. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate has a well-packed heart of savoury white and yellow stonefruits and earthy and mineral detail. The flavours gently fill the palate and the mouthfeel shows a fine, dry, textured line with light, lacy acidity, The wine flows positively to a light stonefruited and earthy-nuanced finish. This is a well-concentrated, up-front Pinot Blanc with mouthfilling flavours of savoury and earthy stonefruits, the palate fine-textured and refreshing. Match with poultry and pork dishes over the next 3 years. Fruit from the Holdsworth ‘Opiki’ vineyard, 50% fermented in tank and 50% in stainless-steel barrels by indigenous yeasts to 14.0% alc. and 4 g/L RS, the wine aged 5 months on lees."
