From Carrick's own certified organic vineyards, Unravelled Pinot Noir is a quintessential Central Otago Pinot style with exuberant dark cherry fruits and that classic lick of wild thyme. Soft, round and juicy, it makes for a great glass of wine at a very good price.

"The 2016 Unravelled Pinot Noir shows dark fruits and spice on the nose. This wine has lovely flow and entry onto the palate with dark cherry, blackcurrants and the unmistakable tannin structure that can only come from the Cairnmuir Terraces of Bannockburn where the winery and vineyard is situated. This is a certified organic, single vineyard, Central Otago Pinot Noir that is light bodied and finely structured."

"Designed to be 'easy-drinking, laidback', the 2016 vintage was matured for 11 months in French oak casks (15 per cent new). It has a fragrant, spicy, inviting bouquet. Fresh and supple, with cherry, plum and spice flavours, woven with lively acidity, it is vividly varietal, with considerable complexity and the structure to age well. Open mid 2018+. Certified organic."

"​Even ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues, a little lighter on the edge and youthful in appearance. The nose is fresh and tightly bound, quite elegant and slender in presentation, with pure aromas of dark-red and black cherries, dark herbs and violet florals. This is fresh and youthful, and yet to unfold. Medium-full bodied, the palate has bright, vibrant and juicy flavours of dark-red and black cherries, along with soft notes of dark herbs and violet florals. The fruit is balanced by a light, grainy tannin structure encasing the fruit, and soft acidity. The fruit vitality reveals an array of floral perfumes and the wine flows with good energy to an elegant, lingering, sweet fruited, gently textured finish. This is a bright and vibrant dark cherry fruited Pinot Noir with herb and violet fragrances, and positive tannin structure, body and grip. Match with poultry, pork, beef and lamb over the next 4 years. Clones 113, 114, 115, 667 and 777 from vines planted in 1995, fully destemmed and indigenous yeast fermented to 13.8% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 12% new French oak. Certified BioGro organic. 4,000 dozen made."
