The nature of a caravan says it usually follows but this one has turned that around and has a huge following. Ever popular at Vino Fino, the Caravan packs quite a punch for such a modestly priced wine, with its dark colour, berry jam fruits and a nice dry and spicy finish. If you are buying this to share, get more than one bottle because it will quickly disappear... It's time to get on the Caravan if you haven't already.
5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, October 2016 (2015 Vintage)
"Big, bold and opulent, this stunning red is packed with blackberry, dark plum, vanilla, milk chocolate and cedar characters. It is beautifully rounded and fleshy, and delivers layers of delicious flavours and silky texture, leading to a lingering velvety finish. At its best: now to 2020."
5 Stars & 18.5/20 Raymond Chan, October 2016 (2015 Vintage)
"Full, dark, deep, near impenetrable purple-hued black-red colour, a little lighter on the rim. This has a very full and softly voluminous, gently packed nose with aromas of fully-ripened blackberry fruit melded with black plums and boysenberries, unfolding dark raspberry and blackberry liqueur notes, along with spice and oak toast. Full-bodied, plush, succulent and well-ripened, sweet flavours of blackberries, boysenberries plums and hints of raisins are entwined with liquorice, Asian spices and toasty oak. The palate is opulent and lush, and the fruit is supported by fine-grained background tannin structure which allows the fruit to feature. The wine carries smoothly to a soft, fine-textured, long and sustained finish of boysenberries and liquorice. This is a rich, sweet-fruited Petite Sirah in the riper spectrum with blackberry, plum and boysenberry flavours entwined with liquorice and spices on a soft, fine-textured palate. Match with slow-cooked game dishes and casseroles over the next 5-6 years. Fruit from South Eastern Australia, fermented to 14.71% alc., the wine given oak contact."
