CANTINA del PINO BARBARESCO 2013 is available to buy in increments of 1
A beautifully polished, boutique Nebbiolo from Barbaresco. It is already on show, with vibrant yet rounded red fruit and floral characters, nuances of umami earth and that overall brightness that makes Nebbiolo so drop dead wonderful. From a family operation that can claim to be the first in Barbaresco. Gorgeous stuff by old hands in the town.
Winery notes (2013 Vintage)
"100% Nebbiolo grapes grown in the hills above Barbaresco. Delicate perfume with aromas of dark cherry and black pepper and a hint of tobacco from a fine cigar. Elegant and fully ripe with intense fruit and wonderful structure and balance. Aged two years in oak and one year in the bottle, this wine is drinking very well now and will age for many years."
Reviews for the 2012 vintage below...
93/100 Gary Walsh, The Wine Front, May 2017 (2012 Vintage)
"Dusty and spicy, cherry boiled lollies, floral, fresh mint. Medium bodied, succulent with an almost cordial-like intensity to the red fruits (which settles down into juicy cherry with sufficient airtime), a lattice of open weave tannin, good freshness, and a perfumed cherry finish of fine length. Needs a bit of time to settle itself down, but a very attractive wine here. Something of a bargain too."
92/100 Monica Larner, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2012 Vintage)
"Like all of the Barbarescos from Cantina del Pino, the 2012 Barbaresco is released one year later than required. That extra time in the bottle serves this wine well to build the aromatic profile and intensity of the bouquet. Overall, this is a feminine expression that boasts a silky presentation and a streamlined personality."
92/100 Antonio Galloni, Vinous (2012 Vintage)
"Cantina del Pino's 2012 Barbaresco is a gorgeous and very reasonably priced top-tier Barbaresco. Sweet red cherry, kirsch, wild flowers, mint and chalk are all bright and delineated throughout. Even after all of the highs and lows of the growing season, the 2012 has turned out to be a pretty classic wine. The radiant, open-knit fruit, bright acidity and beams of supporting tannin result in an impeccably balanced, mid-weight Barbaresco that will drink well with minimal cellaring."
