Winery notes (2015 Vintage)
"This wine presents aromas of plums, blackberries and hints of cherries, liquorice and smoky oak that add to the complexity. The palate is rich and velvety, full of sweet berry fruit flavours, finishing with complex layers of spice and soft savoury tannins."
4 1/2 Stars Michael Cooper (2015 Vintage)
"The 2015 vintage, still very youthful, is a classy, vibrantly fruity red, well worth cellaring to 2018+. Bright ruby, with a fragrant, ripe, cherryish bouquet, it is full-bodied and supple, with strong, ripe cherry and plum flavours, savoury notes adding complexity, and a persistent finish.
4 Stars Cuisine Pinot Noir Tasting, April 2017 (2015 Vintage)
"Grown at the Terrace Vineyard site in Marlborough’s southern valleys, this wine has plenty of coltish exuberance. It delivers dark fruit, cherry and oak-derived cinnamon notes, framed by a fine-boned structure and lifted by racy acidity. Have it with creamy smoked salmon fettucine."
4 Stars & 17.5/20 Raymond Chan, September 2016 (2015 Vintage)
"Dark, deep, ruby-red colour, a little lighter on the rim, youthful in appearance. The nose is elegantly concentrated with aromas of ripe dark-red berry fruit, black berries and black cherries, with herb notes along with subtle reductive complexing detail. Medium-full bodied, the palate possesses bright and sweet fruit flavours of dark raspberries and bitter cherries, along with notes of dark herbs and minerally reductive elements. The mouthfeel is rich with vibrantly sweet fruit enlivened by fresh acidity, and supported by supple tannin extraction. The flavours lead with good energy to a finely concentrated, lingering finish of dark-red berry, red liquorice and herb flavours. This is a sweet-fruited Pinot Noir with dark raspberry and bitter black cherry notes, and a fresh, supple mouthfeel, showing hints of minerally reduction. Match with lamb, beef and venison dishes over the next 5 years. Primarily a blend of clones 777 and 5 from the ‘Brancott’ vineyard, 40% of the fruit hand-picked, destemmed and indigenous yeast fermented to 14.1% alc., the wine aged 11 months in 25% new French oak."
