Winery notes (2014 Vintage)
"Previously known as “Barrel Selection”, this wine was selected from the very best barrels of our 2014 vintage. The fruit was harvested in mid-April 2014. Time on skins approximately 1 month. After pressing, the wine was settled overnight and racked to French oak. The wine underwent a spring malolactic fermentation. The wine was aged for 15 months in 100% French oak barriques. The wine was not fined, but was given a “medium” filtration. We expect this wine will continue to improve over 8 - 10 years. The winemaker is Sarah-Kate Dineen

Deep ruby, with an enticingly fragrant bouquet, it is full-bodied, with a sense of youthful vigour and concentrated, vibrant cherry, plum and spice flavours, showing excellent complexity and harmony."
5 Stars & 95/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, November 2016 (2014 Vintage)
"A delectable pinot offering wonderful fruit richness as well as seductive savoury complexity, exhibiting fragrant aromas of dark cherry, smoked game, truffle and cedar with nuances of cocoa and spice. The palate is concentrated and powerful, while remaining balanced and structured by abundance of fine, polished tannins. Opulent and gratifying. At its best: now to 2022."
5 Stars Michael Cooper (2014 Vintage)
"Top vintages of this single-vineyard Bannockburn red are outstanding. The classy 2014 vintage was matured for 10 months in French oak casks (35 per cent new), and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Deep ruby, with an enticingly fragrant bouquet, it is full-bodied, with a sense of youthful vigour and concentrated, vibrant cherry, plum and spice flavours, showing excellent complexity and harmony. Best drinking mid-2017+."
5 Stars & 95/100 Gourmet Traveller, March 2017 (2014 Vintage)
"Previously known as Barrel Selection, this wine was created from the very best barrels from the excellent 2014 vintage. Robust, structured pinot with black cherry, dark-fleshed plum and a hint of wood smoke supported by firm and slightly stemmy tannins."
5 Stars & 19.0/20 Raymond Chan, July 2016 (2014 Vintage)
"Dark, deep ruby-red colour with some purple hues, a little lighter on the edge. This has a full, broad and rich nose packed with ripe and powerful aromas of dark-red berry fruits and black plums, along with liquorice and spices, unveiling complexing layers of thyme herbs and nutty oak. Full-bodied, the palate features rich, plush and sweet fruit flavours of dark plums and dark-red berry fruits melded harmoniously with liquorice, spices and nutty oak. Some thyme herb detail emerges to add interest. The fruit richness is enlivened by soft acidity and the succulence on palate is balanced by fine-grained tannin extraction and structure. The rich flavours and textures carry through to a long and sustained finish. This is a full, rich and succulent Pinot Noir with sweetly ripe flavours of plums, liquorice, spices and oak, and a balanced, structured palate. Match with slow-cooked game meat dishes over the next 6-8 years. Fruit fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine spending around 1 month on skins and aged 12 months in approx. 30% new French oak barriques. Winemaker: Sarah-Kate Dineen."
