"Auntsfield continues the proud heritage of Marlborough’s first vineyard and winery established in 1873.

Our Single Vineyard wines are made from grapes grown at Auntsfield Estate. Each wine shows the distinctive characteristics of ripeness, texture and minerality – qualities unique to the ancient Greywacke rock and Loess clay soils of the vineyard.

Sauvignon Blanc – Auntsfield Estate aims to produce a distinctive style of Sauvignon Blanc. The style is aimed towards texture, complexity and length, balancing the typical Marlborough fruit spectrum and aromatics with richness and mouth feel.

Lifted and pure aromas of passionfruit, ripe citrus and lime leaf. Notes of fresh and dried herbs, gooseberry and redcurrant add pungency and intensity to the aromatics. Powerful, tight and elegant. This wine displays intense ripe fruit flavours of passionfruit juice and white peach, with citrus notes of lime and mandarin pith. The palate has intense concentration and generous weight, balanced by an underlying minerality and tight structure to shape a wine with lively tension and textural balance."

"From their estate vineyard in the Southern Valleys, the wine offers fabulous fruit intensity as well as silky mouthfeel. The beautifully lifted bouquet shows lemon peel, feijoa, passionfruit and lime zest aromas, followed by a concentrated palate that is focused and linear. The wine delivers wonderful vibrancy and bright acidity, leading to a superbly long, fine finish. A stylish rendition filled with attractive flavours. At its best: now to 2020."

"Bright pale straw colour with slight green hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is soft and gently voluminous with ethereal, fragrant aromas of tropical fruits and white florals, underlined by passionfruit and fresh herbs. The nose shows a concentrated core with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has up-front and rich fruit flavours of tropical fruits, passionfruit, gooseberries and fresh herbs. The fruit has good body and presence, forming a fine-textured and concentrated heart, with good linearity. Fresh, brisk acidity enlivens the fruitiness and aromatics, and the wine flows with good energy to a long, lingering, dry, fine-textured finish, This is a finely concentrated Sauvignon Blanc with ethereal aromas and deep flavours of tropical fruits, passionfruit and gooseberries on a fine, fresh palate. Serve with seafood, salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Auntsfield’ vineyard, fermented in stainless-steel with a portion hand-picked, WBP and fermented in seasoned oak to 13.0% alc."
